I want to thank Daryl for being here with me today. I love having someone on the blog from my province!
Before we get started talking about your writing, tell us a little about yourself, where you’re from, what you do for a living (if you’re not a full time writer) what hobbies you have, etc. Whatever you’d like to share.
Thanks for letting me visit. I live in Ontario Canada with my husband and pets. I write. I left the real world and now I write. When I’m not at my laptop, I love to garden. I have a good size vegetable garden where I fight it out with the local wildlife population. Did you know chipmunks love corn on the cob! So do bears – but we won’t go there! I grew up in the city, but have lived out here in the country for 25 yrs and I love it- except there’s no pizza delivery!
1. How did you get started writing?
When someone handed me a pencil.
2. What genre(s) do you write in and why?
Erotic romance – contemporary, historical and currently working on a fantasy. Why? I have no idea why? Writing erotic was not where I ever planned to go. It’s just where I ended up.
3. Where do you get the ideas for your stories?
The hot tub. Something somebody said. A line pops into my head. I’m quiet, your basic wall flower. But what I’m doing is watching people. How do they interact? How do they stand, hold a drink, laugh. And from what I see or hear an ideas bubbles around in the back of my head until it is ready and then it pops forward and says – well screams actually, “Tada!!”
4. What is it that makes your writing different from all the others in your genre?
My voice. That is the only thing I can claim. I’ve read several books and hundreds of chapters by other romance and erotic romance authors and I am humbled and envious of what they have written.
5. Are you an avid reader? When you do read someone else’s writing, what is your favorite genre?
Let’s say I used to be an avid reader – now I’m an avid critiquer and beta. But when I do have to get away from it all and read “something else” – it’s a murder mystery. I love to cuddle up next to my wood stove with a big hot chocolate and an Agatha Christie. I own all of her books. They are like dear friends.
6. Tell us about your next book & when is it being published?
Capri’s Fate is my erotic fantasy that is currently being written. It is about a junior vice president who falls in love with a hot male voice. When is it going to be published – first I have to finish it. Then I’ll worry about the next part.
Had a great time. 🙂
Here’s a tiny tease –
“Do you trust me?” Kat gazed at me with her dark chocolate eyes mellowed-from-too-much-wine and a goofy grin on her face.
I’ve seen that innocent demeanor before; it meant nothing but trouble. I was a bit wary—okay—a lot wary. Last time she’d gawked at me like that and asked the same brainless question, we ended up at a frat house beer slosh during Homecoming and I wasn’t in college anymore.
A cab pulled up and stopped. She slid in first. “Convention Center.”
“What’s at the convention center?” I sat next to her and shut the car door.
“That’s the trust me bit.”
You have to love air-quotes.
I checked my Blackberry for messages then glanced at her. “Is this going to get me arrested? Again.”
She shook her head.
“Is it going to get me hit on – again – by horny, beer-soaked, college drunks?”
Kat giggled.
“Is that a yes or a no?”
“Go save your Grandmother.” After learning her grandmother booked a cruise with a supposed gigolo and is squandering her inheritance, Esmeralda (Red) Hood boards Emerald Forest cruise ship to protect both.
Once there, Red slips and falls into the arms of Wilhelm Olf, a dark-eyed, continental who makes her body tingle. Stepping out of the elevator, she barges into Andrew Woodsman, a bumbling private school teacher on his first vacation cruise.
With her attention torn between the dissimilar but sexually-intriguing men and keeping watch over tequila drinking, rock wall climbing grandma, Red’s cruise is filled with fun and erotic fantasies.
Grandmother’s warning of Never trust a wolf in sheep’s clothing leaves Red confused. Later, when she wakes up in a utility closet, hands and feet bound and emerald necklace missing, Red discovers the man she suspected is not only innocent but also the one she loves.

The chipmunks protect their corn. I was standing a foot away and the little guy had his arms wrapped around the cob defending it.
Working on Capri – slowly but surely.

The old adage – three seeds in the ground – 1 for animals, one for nature and one to feed me. I don’t think the animals know it – it seems to be 3 for them.

I suspect you wish to write a ‘hot tub’ story to justify buying a really nice one.
And plan to use this blog as evidence when the IRS questions it as a legitimate deduction.
I won’t tell anyone….
